Chrysalis has launched a website to promote its new FM talk format that it hopes to bring to Manchester.
Ofcom is accepting bids for the new city-wide commercial radio licence until October, with the winner due to be announced in the new year.
Chrysalis will be bidding with GMBC, a 24-hour talk station similar to London's LBC, with programming centred on news, sport, showbiz and business, with the support of a dedicated local newsroom.
LBC managing director David Lloyd said: "Anyone who believed that speech radio is dreary has not experienced a great talk format. It's about being entertaining and being interesting. This site is a precursor to what's to come." The site, gmbcradio.co.uk, is intended to illustrate some of the content GMBC will provide and invites ideas on the proposed service.
