Lastminute.com,
the travel and leisure website, is to launch a customer lifestyle
magazine and has appointed contract publisher Zone to carry out the
project.
The title, called Lastminute.com, will be edited by
former Guardian Guide and Hotdog editor Ben Olins, and will be targeted
at the website’s top 100,000 customers.
According to a spokesman
for Zone, the magazine will “travel around the world in search of
adventure, from riding rollercoasters in Russia to bar-hopping through
Cape Town via swimming with sharks and carousing in casinos.
“In
between it will trip over its own doorstep in discovering the hidden
delights of the UK and will ultimately answer the eternal conundrum of
travelling: what exactly do you do with that bottle of dodgy liqueur
you ill-advisedly brought back from Prague?”
The first issue will be published in mid-July.
