KOS Media has become one of the first regional newspaper publishers in the UK to launch a free iPad application.
The app from the Archant-owned publisher allows readers to access e-editions of all 16 newspapers it produces – including its flagship Kent on Sunday title – along with classified ad searches for jobs, home and cars in and around Kent.
Paul Stannard, managing director of KOS Media, said: “As soon as we knew the iPad was set for release, we began working on an app with our developers PageSuite.
“I am extremely pleased with the new app and it will offer huge advantages to our readers who have access to one.”
KOS Media was bought by Archant in June for an undisclosed sum. The regional publishing group had previously invested around £500,000 in KOS Media, acquiring a minority stake in the business over the last three years.
In addition to Kent on Sunday, KOS Media publishes a series of free weekly newspapers, magazines and digital products from its headquarters at Smeeth near Ashford.
The company, which employs 70 full-time staff, also produces YourkentTV, an internet service providing regional features, business and sport.
