ITV News launches six-month obesity investigation

ITV’s Evening News will tonight begin a six-month investigation into obesity in the UK.

Presenter Mary Nightingale will host the series, anchoring ITV Evening News live on launch night and Friday 12 June from the location in England with the highest obesity levels.

The investigation comes after latest obesity data was exclusively given to ITV.

Science editor Lawrence McGinty, consumer editor Chris Choi and political correspondent Alex Forrest will also feature in the series.

ITV News acting editor Jonathan Munro said: “This six-month series will inform ITV Evening News viewers about key issues and challenges by using exclusive research, expert analysis and numerous case studies.”

The series will have its own on-air branding and dedicated section at www.itv.com/news.
