ITN is taking over the commercial management of the Fox news video library and the marketing of the Fox Movie tone Film Archive.
With the addition of Fox’s 31,500 hours of content, ITN Archive will offer a total of 680,000 hours of material to broadcasters, advertisers, film and TV producers in the UK and internationally, rivalling Getty Images. This latest addition to the ITN Archive follows expansion which has seen a trebling in turnover since 2001.
Mark Wood, ITN chief executive, commented: “Fox has an extremely high quality news archive, which will complement the archive we are already responsible for managing. As the clear leader in this market and with advances in digital technology, we see good growth opportunities and increase in demand.”
ITN manages ITN’s own news coverage of the past 50 years, plus the Reuters video library and British Pathe´, a fully-digitised newsreel collection spanning more than 70 years.
ITN Archive also manages footage sales from the back catalogues of UK broadcasters Granada and Channel 4.
