IPC Connect has appointed former Virgin Media Television head of interactive Kevin Brown to the new role of digital development director.
Brown’s remit will be to deliver a digital strategy across IPC Connect’s women’s brands including Look, Chat, Pick Me Up and Now.
IPC Connect’s digital brands include celebrity gossip site Nowmagazine.co.uk and the recently-launched portal for ‘mainstream women”, GoodtoKnow.co.uk.
At Virgin Media Television, Brown managed the implementation of broadband video on-demand, content syndication, user generated applications and mobile activity at LIVING, Bravo, Trouble, Challenge and FTN.
Prior to Virgin, Brown worked with Sky music channels The Amp, Flaunt and Scuzz, Teletext and Daily Star website, Megastar.
Brown, who takes up his new position this week, will report to IPC Connect manging director Evelyn Webster.
Webster said: “Kevin brings years of experience in developing and translating brands in the digital space, whether they exist on other platforms or are targeted exclusively online. His arrival marks the beginning of the next phase of Connect’s digital development.”
Meanwhile, IPC Weeklies – the advertising division supporting both IPC Connect and the IPC TX has appointed Darren Davidson as its first digital advertising director.
The former head of digital sales at News International, will be responsible for developing and implementing the digital advertising strategy across the two divisions’ digital portfolios, which together reach over 600,000 unique users.
Davidson will report to IPC Weeklies group advertising director Kate Mackenzie. through existing brands and new digital environments for this audience.”
