The Ethnic Media Group is set to sign a deal to acquire Indiaweekly from Ashoka Publications.
The new owners plan to boost its circulation by increased marketing and doubling the print run.
Ethnic Media chairman Gurmeet Khangura said it would be a “valuable addition” and would be incorporated into the group’s portfolio which includes New Nation, Eastern Eye, Caribbean Times and Asian Times. He said all the team, including four journalists, would keep their jobs. It will not result in a big move for staff, as both publishers are London based.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
