IHT launches automated audio articles

By Press Gazette

The International Herald Tribune has launched a podcasting service that automatically generates audio versions of stories chosen from its web site.

The service, located at audionews.iht.com, allows registered users to listen to stories immediately or create a customised podcast feed of selected articles.

This service, created in conjunction with the Swedish company ReadSpeaker, uses voices from professional readers to automatically generate audio versions of selected articles.

Paris-based IHT.com claims 2.7 million unique readers a month.
