By Press Gazette

Columnist Simon Heffer is returning to The Daily Telegraph after an
absence of 10 years and will take the the title of associate editor.

Heffer, a former deputy editor of The Daily Telegraph, will write two columns per week.

Martin
Newland, editor of The Daily Telegraph, said: “I am thrilled to
announce Simon’s return to his natural journalistic home after several
years at the Daily Mail. He writes with wit, candour and intelligence
and has enormous depth of knowledge. His new columns will be required

Heffer is the latest high profile journalist to join
the Telegraph. Last week it was announced that Jeff Randall was leaving
