Haymarket has moved into the environmental sector and acquired independent publishing company Environmental Data Services (ENDS).
The company owns three titles – the monthly The ENDS Report, the daily electronic bulletin Environment Daily and the ENDS Directory, which is published online once a year.
All three are aimed at environmental consultants, managers, regulators and lawyers. The flagship title, The ENDS Report, is widely regarded as “the bible” of its sector and will sit in Haymarket’s professional division alongside existing titles Planning and Regeneration & Renewal.
All 35 staff, including 11 editorial, are expected to transfer to Haymarket, which said it did not anticipate any redundancies.
Haymarket chairman Michael Heseltine said in a statement that the company had been looking to acquire a high-quality title in the environmental field for some time. “Once we had found ENDS, we knew that the search was over,” he said.
ENDS was founded in 1978 and has annual revenues approaching £2.5m.
