Guitar Player magazine has been relaunched and widened its coverage following a six-figure cash injection.
The first issue with the new look was unveiled on newsstands this week with more interviews, product news, reviews, career advice and columnists. The revamp, which was the result of extensive reader research and focus groups, also includes the introduction of improved paper stock and more pages.
CMPi publishes Guitar Player out of California, but is hoping the relaunch will increase its profile in the UK. The company aims to boost the number of subscriptions and copy sales on UK news-stands and increase the title’s current circulation from 140,000 to 150,000 this year.
The March issue features a new design along with a piece on Ozzy Osbourne’s long-term guitarist Zakk Wylde.
Louise Rogers, publisher of CMPi’s music player titles in the US, said: “We have taken an excellent publication and now developed it into a fantastic one.”
