The brother of murdered Sunday Independent journalist Veronica Guerin – Jimmy Guerin – has said that the Hollywood film on the life and death of his sister had wrongly identified the killer as Dublin criminal Patrick “Dutchy” Holland.
Jimmy Guerin interviewed him in prison where he is serving a 12-year sentence for drug dealing and said he now accepted that the portrayal of Holland in the film, Veronica Guerin, was “inaccurate”.
Guerin spoke to Holland in the course of research for a book he is writing entitled Justice Denied which seeks to expose miscarriages of justice in Ireland.

In the book Guerin will claim that there is now “overwhelming evidence” that the hitman who shot his sister later became a supergrass on the police witness protection programme.
