Gongs

By Press Gazette

A new glossy
magazine aimed at advertising creatives is celebrating its launch by
handing out tongue-in-cheek awards to the ad industry based on the
number of awards already received.

Styling Lard, which will be
published in a new format with a new topic every six months, is the
brainchild of Mark Denton, himself an award-winning designer and
director of commercials.

The “Gongs” issue, out this month priced
£10, also features awards for the best awards as well as plenty of
photographs of semi-naked women in vintage underwear.

The title
celebrates the use of the magazine as an ad vehicle, aiming to
“showcase the best advertising in town”, said producer Carrie Garner.
She added: “The issue includes a Top-100 listing of the leading 50 art
directors and copywriters in the UK, based on number of awards received
over the past 10 years.”
