ITV News correspondent Shiulie Ghosh has become the latest British journalist to be headhunted by Al Jazeera International.
Ghosh, who joined ITV News as a general reporter in January 1998, was this week announced as the new anchor at the Doha-based company. Al Jazeera has yet to confirm exactly when its long-awaited English-language service will launch.
Ghosh said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to be joining Al Jazeera International and to be part of this exciting television project which will balance the information flow from South to North, bridging the cultures for English speakers around the world.”
Ghosh joins an ever-expanding team of international reporters who will front programmes on the channel when it launches, including Sir David Frost, Rageh Omaar and Richard Gizbert.
Ghosh was a correspondent and a presenter for ITV News, covering a range of major events from around the world.
