Respect MP George Galloway will reach a new audience in Scotland from tomorrow, when his talkSPORT phone-in radio show is to be broadcast by its Edinburgh-based sister station talk107.
Scots-born Galloway's programme has been a success for the UK-wide radio station, and talk107, launched by owners UTV in February, is hoping it will boost listening figures.
It is believed the first approach to Galloway was made by managers in Scotland but the London-based station decided to run with the idea themselves.
According to the Register of Members’ Interests, Galloway earned £280,000 last year from television appearances, newspaper columns and book deals.
Talk107 is currently recruiting more reporters and producers as the radio industry awaits the station’s first audience rating appraisal in Rajar’s August figures.
