Full-colour Telegraph goes to 90p while Guardian Weekend edition rises by 10p

By Press Gazette

The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph are to bring in price increases this week after The Times put its weekday price up to 80p last week.

At 90p each weekday The Daily Telegraph will now be the most expensive UK daily newspaper after the Financial Times which sells for £1.50. The Telegraph unveiled a full-colour redesign yesterday, made possible after it signed a deal with News International to print its papers at the hi-tech Broxbourne plant in Hertfordshire.

A Guardian spokeswoman confirmed that the paper’s weekday price will remain the same at 80p but its Saturday weekend edition will go up by 10p to £1.60 from this weekend.
