FT builds on iPad success with launch of FTChinese.com app

By admin

The Financial Times has launched a free app for Apple’s iPad focusing specifically on content from its FTChinese.com website.

The app will provide interactive access to a broad range of content including video, slideshows, BizGym features, news and analysis – its launch is being sponsored by luxury watchmaker Rolex.

The launch follows in from the FT’s launch of a free iPad app for its core site in May.

Earlier this week Ben Hughes, the FT’s global commercial director, told the Guardian that the free iPad app has brought the paper more than £1m in advertising revenue since it was launched in May and that it now accounts for ten per cent of the paper’s new digital subscriptions.
