The Financial Times has appointed Lina Saigol to be its European mergers and acquisitions correspondent. She was previously the FT’s investment banking correspondent.
Before joining the FT in 2000, Saigol spent three years at Sunday Business as a banking editor and three years at The Guardian as a personal finance and City reporter.
Jane Fuller, financial editor, commented: “The M&A beat is very competitive, with a premium on building and maintaining contacts.
“Lina is dedicated to keeping the Financial Times at the front of this pack. In a difficult ‘off-diary’ role, she is a self-starter with formidable knowledge of this branch of investment banking.”
