The Financial Mail is breaking new ground in the national press by launching a special Polish supplement, which it will publish online.
The business and personal finance section of the Mail on Sunday will launch the report aimed at the one million Polish people in the UK both as a pull-out section in English and Polish and an expanded version online at www.thisismoney.co.uk.
Weekly newspaper the Polish Express will carry the report a week later.
The supplement includes a report from the all-Polish Manchester branch of Lloyds TSB, Polish rockers attending a pop concert in the capital will talk about their financial concerns and the Financial Mail will visit Warsaw to cover the increasing attempts by British finance companies to attract those heading for work in the UK.
Financial Mail editor Lisa Buckingham said: ‘While hard-working Polish plumbers and cleaners have become familiar, there are growing professional openings for Polish speakers which Financial Mail will look at.
“There will be a guide to setting up a business for budding entrepreneurs and advice on the best ways to send money back home to friends and family.
‘The rapidly growing Polish community in Britain has a reputation for hard work, aspiration and entrepreneurial spirit – values which make them natural readers of Financial Mail and the Mail on Sunday.”
The special report will be launched on 4 November.
Financial Mail will also set up a Polish-language “Ask the Experts” telephone hotline to follow publication, allowing readers to ring in with their financial queries.
