February ABCs: London freesheets outperform Standard

London’s freesheets continue to enjoy a higher circulation than the Evening Standard, according to February’s ABCs.

London Lite’s circulation was up 0.1 per cent year on year to 401,250, while thelondonpaper increased 1.51 per cent to 500,824.

Meanwhile, the Evening Standard’s circulation fell 3.69 per cent year on year to 277,522. March will be the first full month for new owner Alexander Lebedev and new editor Geordie Greig.

Metro’s London edition – which, unlike London Lite and thelondonpaper, is a morning paper – had a 733,882 circulation.

Group wide – the paper has editions across the country – Metro’s circulation was 1,336,894.
