Two journalists who took voluntary redundancy from the Bristol Evening Post and Western Daily Press have used their pay-offs to launch a free monthly business news and lifestyle magazine in the city.
Former features editor Bill Davis and senior feature writer Tom Henry have set up their own publishing company Ten Four Publishing and Work:Life is their first major project due to launch in September.
Davis is hoping to distribute the title at the three main commuter stations in Bristol and the key centres of business in the city with an initial print run of 30,000 targeting everyone from the key decision makers and managing directors to PA and the secretaries.
Davis said: "We want it to be the key read for business people in the city and for it to have a big impact of business life. There is definitely a gap in the market here, where business is booming and yet there's nothing published that celebrates that fact.”
