The Evening Standard is following up the crusade it started five months ago to raise awareness of the plight London’s dispossessed by launching a campaign to raise £1m to fight poverty in the capital.
The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund has secured match funding of up to a further £1m from the Government – so the paper says – taking the likely total fund to over £2m if donations meet the desired target.
The paper aims to help communities across London fight poverty by distributing a series of small grants to worthwhile groups, such as not-for-profit organisations, third sector voluntary or community groups.
