Evening News marks promotion with special edition

By Andrew Pugh

The Norwich Evening News printed every page in yellow and green yesterday to mark Norwich City FC’s promotion to the Premier League.

A wrap-around picture covering the front and back pages was also published in the newspaper on 11 May, following an open-top bus parade though the city the night before.

There was also an eight-page picture pull-out from the event along with picture galleries, videos and live reports on the website.

The newspaper is now planning a 48-page souvenir review of the season, which will appear in tomorrow’s paper.

Evening News editor Tim Williams said: ‘Instead of painting the town red, we painted it yellow and green.

‘We like to do different here in Norwich and we wanted to do something special for readers to mark the club’s fantastic achievement.

”Response to the special edition has been tremendous – it’s caused almost as much fuss on Twitter as Pippa Middleton’s figure-hugging dress.
