Editors of Emap’s weeklies Closer and Grazia are to go head to head for the title of editor of the year (consumer magazines) at this year’s PPA Magazine 2007 awards.
Jane Brunton of Grazia and Jane Johnson of Closer will be up against six other editors, including BBC Magazines’ Top Gear editor Michael Harvey and New Statesman editor John Kampfner.
B2B editors up for a gong this year include two CMP Information editors, Giles Barrie of Property Week and Denise Chevin of Building.
Other nominees include Karen Dempsey of Reed’s Personnel Today and Gavin Kinks of IncisiveMedia-published Accountancy Age.
This year sees a record 59 nominations from 43 publishers that have been selected for the shortlist.
The winners will be announced during Magazines 2007, at a gala dinner on 9 May at Grosvenor House in London.
