Oliver Irish has been made editor of consumer technology magazine Stuff after two months as acting editor.
He succeeds Tom Dunmore, now editor of Haymarket’s Rip and Burn, who took the magazine over the 70,000 barrier in the latest ABC figures.
Irish wants to continue building on Dunmore’s foundations and attract new readers.
Irish plans greater focus on the design of the magazine, including higher quality cover images, and intends to increase the number of themed supplements.
He said: “I’m planning to make sure that Stuff looks consistently good. Our readers won’t buy technology if it looks duff, it is just as important that it looks good as works well – it’s a balance between form and function.”
Irish was deputy editor of Observer Sport Monthly for three and a half years.
