Aberdeen Evening Express editor Donald Martin has been named Charles McGhee’s successor as editor of the Evening Times in Glasgow.
Martin has kept a steady circulation at the Express during his 8-year editorship and was one of the best evening performers in the latest set of ABC’s down just 1.8 per cent to 56,868.
He said that his paper had one of the youngest readerships in the country which had contributed to its success as well as its high pricing structure.
The Evening Times was down 4 per cent to 81,393.
Northcliffe Newspapers managing director Michael Pelosi said: "Donald has made a major impact on the Aberdeen evening newspaper and I take this opportunity to express Northcliffe’s gratitude for what he has achieved.
"I have no doubt Donald will be a great asset to the Evening Times. I wish him every success in his new role."
