Current affairs controller leaving ITV

By Press Gazette

By Julie Tomlin

Dominic Crossley-Holland is believed to be leaving ITV less than a year after he was promoted to controller for current affairs, arts and religion.

Crossley-Holland, who moved through the ranks of ITN after joining as a graduate trainee, was editor of ITV Nightly News and later the ITN News Channel, relaunching it when it was brought under the ITV banner in 2002.

He left ITN early last year – several months before the news channel was scrapped by ITV – to take on the controller role. The post was left vacant after Steve Anderson quit ITV when as part of a post-merger shake up news was removed from his remit.

It is understood that ITV will not be recruiting a new controller but will move current affairs, arts and religion into its factual department.
