A Northern Ireland radio consortium, whose backers include former
Ulster Unionist Party minister Lord Kilclooney and Irish rugby
international David Humphreys, is to bid for a new radio licence for
Newry, Co. Down.
The consortium has just launched a station in Ballymena, Co. Antrim, known as Seven FM.
Communications
regulator Ofcom has introduced three Northern Ireland local stations,
in Ballymena, Newry and Belfast, which was awarded to UTV.
