CNN has poached Anjali Rao from Sky News to be an anchor and correspondent at the network’s headquarters in Hong Kong.
Rao is to co-anchor ‘World News Asia’ alongside Andrew Stevens.
is the third signing for CNN from the UK in the past three months, with
anchors also recruited from ITN and the BBC. In October Isha Sesay was
appointed from ITN and in November Adrian Finnegan’s move from the BBC
to CNN’s London office was announced.
Rao joins CNN from Sky
News, where she was an anchor and presenter on Five News. Rao has
worked for over a decade at broadcasters in Australia, Asia and Europe.
She has covered major news stories including the attacks of 9/11, the
aftermath of the Bali bombings, the war in Iraq and the South Asian
