CMP Information, publisher of Music Week, Pulse and Travel Trade Gazette, has restructured its senior management in line with its next strategy for growth.
The business has been split into two divisions. Trevor Barratt, current head of CMPi’s Builder Group, will become managing director of the newly created Built Environment Division.
Jonathan Newby, chief executive of RIBA Enterprises, the commercial arm of the Royal Institute of British Architects, will join the company as managing director of the General Division.
CMPi said the move was designed to free up management time and create expansion initiatives and opportunities so that the businesses can work together within the group.
The Built Environment Division will include the Builder Group, Property Group and Barbour Group as well as the Builder Group’s titles, the interiors portfolio, technology and security shows.
The General Division will contain the entertainment and healthcare titles, along with the speciality chemical ingredients businesses and the agriculture, print and packaging magazines.
Chief executive Bernard Gray said: “Building on the success we have had in restructuring CMPi, the creation of these two divisions will give us the time and resources to make the most of our existing business, to launch new products and to successfully acquire businesses.”
CMP Information also publishes Property Week, Guitar Player and Chemist & Druggist.
