Charity worker Waseem Yaqub is suing the BBC for libel damages of £100,000 over a Panorama programme which he claims linked him to terrorism.
Yaqub, general manager of Islamic Relief UK, says in a writ that Panorama's edition Faith Hope and Charity in July focused on the link between Islamic charities and terrorism funding. A professionally taken photograph of him was shown twice, according to a writ issued in the High Court.
After he complained, his face was obscured when the programme was repeated in August, but he says that friends and colleagues recognised him.
