A quick-thinking worker from the South Wales Echo’s scanning department gave the paper its front-page splash after encountering a crash on his way to work.
A wrecked car was lying across the path of the A470, closing one of the busiest roads in South Wales during rush hour.
Anthony James, who has been with the Trinity Mirror paper since 1989, said: “I always bring my camera into work, so I got out of my car and got some pictures.
When I got to work, I called the Echo to see if it was doing the story and wanted some pictures – it did and one went on the front page.”
