The British Journalist Ski Club is offering a free place on its next trip to the “journalist skiing olympics”.
An eight-strong team plans to make its way to the Czech resort of Jeseniky to compete against newsmen from 30 other nations. The trip includes transfers, hotel accommodation and six days skiing. There are two races – giant slalom and cross-country. The cost for members is G 185. The Ski Club for International Journalists was founded in 1953 at the height of the Cold War to bring journalists from the East and West together. The trip is on 22-29 January and team captain Tony Gearing wants to hear from anyone interested in joining the team on 01763 289453. The winner has to pay for their own flights.
