Business briefs: Emap bonuses, Sky/ITV ruling

Emap directors’ windfall from sale
Emap’s executive chairman, Alun Cathcart, will receive a £900,000 bonus after shareholders voted in favour of Bauer’s £1.14bn approach for its consumer magazines and radio stations, according to The Times. Finance director Ian Griffiths will receive £707,000 if the B2B sale to GMG and Apax goes through.

Sky/ITV ruling expected this week
Business secretary John Hutton is to deliver his verdict on BSkyB’s 17.9 per cent swoop on ITV this Tuesday, according to the Daily Mail. The paper says Sky will “almost certainly launch a legal challenge” for compensation if Hutton rules that it has to reduce its stake. A source tells the Daily Mail: “I can see this dragging out for at least another 12 months”.
