BSkyB’s PR man joining Maxim

By Press Gazette

Maxim has signed up BSkyB PR man Darryl Butcher to fill the newly created post of entertainment editor.

Maxim editor-in-chief Tom Loxley said: “We’re delighted Darryl has decided to come over to this side of the fence.

“With his PR background and extensive talent-management experience, Darryl is perfectly placed to help us secure the best possible celebrities for our readers.” Dennis Publishing is keen to take advantage of Butcher’s PR background. He will also be involved in managing future projects and events and developing greater links between the magazine and US Maxim . Butcher previously spent four years at Channel 4, co-ordinating publicity for its US programming and almost five years at BSkyB as a senior press officer for the satellite channel Sky One where he had direct responsibility for Sky One’s US and UK comedy and drama output.
