Blunkett pulls out of presentation

By Press Gazette

David Blunkett has pulled out of presenting the London Press Club
Awards next Wednesday. The former Home Secretary has told the
organisers that the event clashes with his General Election schedule.
His earlier agreement to present the awards at the British Gas
sponsored lunchtime event at Claridge’s had caused surprise. Two of the
nominations for Scoop of the Year were stories in the News of the World
and Sunday Telegraph about his affair with Spectator publisher Kimberly
Quinn which led to his decision to resign as a minister. He is being
replaced by John Sergeant.
