NUJ members at the Bolton Evening News have withdrawn a threat of industrial action after management offered a new pay deal for late-shift workers.
The chapel has agreed to Newsquest's offer of between £500 and £1,000 a year, depending on what job they do, for those who work until 11.30pm.
Previously the company had offered £10 for those working after 9pm and staff threatened to boycott late shifts, which were introduced when the paper switched to overnight printing.
