The search for an executive editor for the BBC’s newly established Topical Arts and Journalism Unit is underway this week, in the run-up to the launch of the broadcaster’s spring and summer programme schedule, writes Wale Azeez.
It is understood interviews for the position began this week.
Establishing the unit is part of an £8m expansion of arts coverage at the BBC.
Forthcoming current affairs series The Culture Show will be the unit’s flagship programme, dedicated to UK arts and culture.
It will be a peak-time programme that will “celebrate and critique the range and diversity of arts in the regions as well as the metropolis”, according to the BBC.
Also on BBC Two, This World – the current affairs series that replaced Correspondent – returns beginning with One Day of War, a snapshot of conflict around the world within a 24-hour period.
