NUJ members at the BBC have rejected the corporation's proposed deal on pay and pensions.
While Bectu's BBC membership voted in favour of the deal, 59.4 per cent of NUJ members voted against it.
The BBC had proposed an increase of 0.2 per cent on their original pay offer of 2.6 per cent. The offer defers the rise in the retirement age from 60 to 65 and sees the increase in pensions contributions delayed for six months.
The joint unions will meet on 1 September to discuss their combined response to the deal, taking into account the varying results in both ballots.
