Matthew Eltringham is to succeed Kevin Marsh as editor of the BBC College of Journalism
Eltringham has worked at the BBC for 16 years including stints on Five Live and The World Tonight, as well as planning editor in the BBC’s political newsroom at Westminster and output editor of Breakfast with Frost.
For the last few months Eltringham, who started his career in journalism as a district reporter in the Exeter office of the Western Morning News, has been leading a project at the college promoting the use of social media in the newsroom.
