The mother of Huddersfield Examiner digital journalist Adrian Sudbury, who died in August after an 18-month battle with leukaemia, has reflected on a year that “went from planning his wedding to planning his funeral”.
Speaking on the BBC Radio FiveLive breakfast show this morning (from 34:50), Kay Sudbury spoke of her son’s award-winning blog about his illness, and how he devoted the final months of his life to a “huge awareness campaign” urging the Government to make information on bone marrow donation available to all sixth form students.
In a written message read out at his memorial service in Sheffield Cathedral in October, Sudbury urged his family and friends to take over his campaign.
The FiveLive audio is available until 5 January here (from 34:50).
