Living France: staff will transfer
Archant Life has acquired Picture House Publishing, which publishes the magazine for Francophiles, Living France.
The takeover will affect seven staff, all of whom are expected to transfer to Archant. It will also boost Archant’s presence in the France-related specialist sector.
Both Living France and Archant’s existing title, France magazine, will be headed by Simon Haisman, who joined from VNU this week.
The Yorke family, who previously owned Picture House Publishing, will continue their involvement with the monthly Living France.
Trevor Yorke, who joined the magazine after its launch in 1989, will be involved in writing a series of regional features, Susan Yorke will remain as office manager and Matthew Yorke will continue as production director.
Living France has a circulation of around 20,000.
Jonathan Hustler, managing director of Archant Life, said: "The title enjoys an excellent reputation, and has experienced rapid growth in recent years. Together with France magazine, which we acquired two years ago, this gives us a strong position in the France-related specialist sector." Archant Life is the regional magazine subsidiary of Archant.
