Adams ready to party as prepares to head West

By Axegrinder axeblog

OK, so here’s a bit of a scoop: Guy Adams, who has been acting as The Independent’s features editor, is off to Los Angeles in May to replace Andrew Gumbel.

Guy, who previously edited the paper’s Pandora column and is keen on boxing in his spare time, has already been out West on a “recce” to see where he’d like to live.

Guy is thinking of having a leaving party that will include the best of British beer, coupled with some typical American food.

Will it be popcorn and peanuts, I wonder? And how do I know this? Well, he sent round an email to some of his mates telling them to “save the date”.

Meanwhile, I hear that Gumbel, who has decided not to work for the paper any longer, will be staying on in LA, while the hunt is on for a features editor at The Indy.
