The Daily Mirror’s 3am Girls column is to relaunch in the New Year following the departure of Eva Simpson and Caroline Hedley.
Simpson, the last of the original team, has been poached by News International’s thelondonpaper where she will be assistant editor. She will be acting editor of the free daily when current deputy Bridget Harrison goes on maternity leave.
LA-based Hedley, who left the paper a week before Simpson, turned down an offer to return to the UK
and write her own column. She will remain in LA and continue to write for the Mirror on a retainer. The Daily Mail’s Clemmie Moody is thought to be in the running for the new 3am team.
