A new youth media company is being headed up by former Emap and Dennis directors, after the merger of three specialist extreme sports publishers.
Factory Media, backed by investment from Electra Quoted Management, is the result of a merger between Action Sports Media, Permanent Publishing and 4130 Publishing.
Former Emap trade marketing manager Darryl Newton will be managing director, joined by former FHM publishing director James Carter — who most recently worked on the launch of Dennis's monkeymag. Ex-Dennis chief executive, Alistair Ramsay has been appointed as non executive Chairman.
The company will initially consist of 12 action sports-based magazines,13 related websites and international editions with content spanning skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX and mountain bikes.
