Thank you for pointing out that there are quite a few hacks out
there who really do make a contribution to society when we are given
the opportunity (Press Gazette , 14 Jan).
Yes there are days when
Jordan riding a horse bareback in a bikini is top of the newslist and
turning a grubby kiss-and-tell into a celebrity love story was never
going to be what one studied shorthand for.
But the last few
weeks show we can all rise to the occasion when a worldstopping story
presents itself. Only Piers Morgan deserves the self-styled description
“abusive, sneering, hypocritical and sanctimonious”.
It’s good to
see Press Gazette give some self-respect to newspaper journalists who
are too often forced to apologise for what they do.
