The Wall Street Journal has hired veteran Financial Times journalist Stephen Fidler to the newly created role of European finance editor.
Fidler spent nine years at Reuters and then 20 years at the FT, including stints as international capital markets editor, Latin America editor and defence and security editor.
In his new role at the News Corp-owned daily, he will report on corporate and retail banking, reporting to London bureau chief Bruce Orwall.
