Women’s charity magazine Candis has appointed Becky Haslam, above, from Cosmopolitan Hair and Beauty as its new art editor, writes Ruth Addicott.
Haslam said she was looking forward to working in a completely new market and was keen to return to The Wirral, where Candis is based.
“I’m originally from Scotforth, Lancaster, and for some time have been keen to return to the North West,” she said. Prior to joining Candis, Haslam worked for Lancashire Life, Woman’s Realm and Hair magazine.
Candis was sold door-to-door before becoming a subscription-only title last year. After an initial sales decline, it now claims to attract more than 10,000 new subscribers a month and donates 10 per cent of its subscription income to charity.
Since its launch 41 years ago, it has raised more than £47m for health-related causes.
