The networking and campaigning organisation Women in Journalism has relaunched its website to include new features and services.
There is a student area for WIJ’s new student wing currently under development and a freelancer’s directory, a directory of commissioning editors and regular news updates.
New features include “My Career Ladder” which describes a journalist’s rise through the ranks, “Ask the Expert” is a Q&A session with an expert in a certain field, and the “Members Abroad” section gives an insight into the lives of female foreign journalists. There is also a jobs section, discussion forums and top tips section.
Online editor Katy Weitz added: “This is not just a facelift – we’ve completely reworked the site from scratch.
“We wanted it to be as user-friendly as possible while giving our members loads of opportunities to network and share information.
“We hope that members, new and old, will contribute to each section and keep WiJ as fresh and relevant as it was when it was founded over 12 years ago.”
The new green and black site was relaunched by web design company Wilson Fletcher.
