The body of Essex journalist Gavin Nightingale has been found near Ben Nevis, where he went missing in February.
A post mortem concluded the 38- year-old died from multiple injuries after a mountain fall.
Nightingale
was a senior sub-editor from Colchester, working for Essex County
Newspapers across north and mid Essex. He was an experienced walker.
Irene
Kettle, editor-in-chief of Essex County Newspapers, said: “I have
spoken with Gavin’s family. This will at least allow them to move on to
the next stage of the grieving process.
“We have all lost a valued friend and colleague who we will never forget.”
It is not yet known whether a total accident inquiry will take place.
